Puppies

We have now retired to the United Arab Emirates and therefore are no longer breeding.

Our waiting list is therefore closed. However here is some info to avoid you being scammed by breeders you may contact…this was the way we did it when we were breeding. We are leaving this page up on our website so you can take information from it.

Solentgold Puppy Information

When we do breed we never take deposits as we always have far too many people on our list. If someone has offered you a puppy that they claim to be one of ours you can be sure that they are nothing to do with Solentgold if they are asking for a deposit and you have never met them. Please do not get caught out.

Our puppies are born in the heart of our home and are reared there to ensure they are well used to the hustle and bustle of family life.  The first eight weeks of a dogs life is a critical period where the nurturing and experiences they have reap rewards later in life. We are with our puppies 24/7 to give them the very best start possible.

We believe Golden Retrievers should live as part of the household like our own do and seek the same for our puppies. We encourage new owners to socialise their puppy and attend training classes.  A well trained dog is a pleasure to own but does require continued effort throughout the dogs life. Please do not be fooled into thinking that because they are therapy dogs their pups will not need the same training as every other dog.  A great adult dog evolves with time and patience.

Finally, dog ownership is a long term commitment - please research carefully. You can find more detailed advice from The Kennel Club and Golden Retriever Club.

Always meet the pups with their mother and (if possible) see the father.  If he is not available at the time you visit the puppies, do ensure you have full details of the father and contact details for his owners too.  They should be only too pleased to be contacted and answer any questions you may have regarding his characteristics.

Please help end the misery of puppy farms by ensuring you buy from a responsible breeder and do not buy a puppy online.
