About Us

We are currently on an extended sabbatical living abroad in the United Arab Emirates with our dogs…if or when we return to the UK we will update our pages and add a contact us page. In the meantime this website will be updated on our NEWS page only.

Lyndsey and Mike Uglow welcome you to Solentgold. Monty, our first Golden Retriever arrived in 2003 having been bred by Sarah and Patrick Curry in Sussex.  He captured our hearts and we have been smitten ever since! Totty came to join him in 2007 and our first litter was born in 2010 having mated Totty to Amberland Aden.  The first Solentgold litter gave us our own home grown girl, Jessie.  Leo arrived in 2012 having been bred by Catherine and Sven Zingg of Rayleas Golden Retrievers in France.  We have since kept Quinn from a Jessie and Leo litter and completed our family with Pollyanna, again from our friends at Rayleas.

We believe that having a great dog is a privilege and takes time and effort.  All our dogs have their own unique personalities requiring their own training and care.  They thrive on the individual attention as well as enjoying plenty of play as a group.  All have successfully qualified as hospital Animal Assisted Intervention dogs and we are very proud of the work that they do at Southampton Children's Hospital along with three other Solentgold retrievers who complete the team.

Lyndsey’s success in developing the AAI service has been recognised by the Golden Retriever Club as one of their Members Achievements. Click the link below for details.

We only breed occasionally but when we do all our puppies are Kennel Club registered.  We aim to breed Golden Retrievers that are a delight to own with a sound temperament being the number one priority.  All our dogs are health tested in accordance with the Kennel Club guidelines.
