Our Dogs
We believe Golden Retrievers should live as part of the family, just like ours do! We encourage new owners to socialise their puppy and attend training classes. Please do not be fooled into thinking that because ours are therapy dogs they don’t require the same general training as every other dog. A puppy is just the start of the evolution process for a fabulous canine friend.
Animal Assisted Intervention
Having started as Pets as Therapy visitors, our dogs are now the foundation of the Animal Assisted Intervention (AAI) service at Southampton Children’s Hospital. All the dogs have been temperament assessed for suitability to work with children and environmentally trained to work in all areas of the hospital.
Lyndsey holds a qualification in AAI and leads the team of four handlers and six dogs. She has published on the subject and is a regular speaker at conferences.
Leo named Kennel Club Friends for Life Champion
Leo was crowned Friends for Life Champion at Crufts 2020 after being nominated in the Child’s Champion category for the work he has done with children in paediatric intensive care at Southampton Children’s Hospital.
